Child Development Supervisor 

The Child Development Supervisor will act as coordinate with staff and families in addition to working in the classroom.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with Licensing and Accreditation officers and maintain compliance with them.

  • Assist in the collection of fees

  • Set and manage staff schedules and responsibilities

  • Support and assist educators in programming and observations for each group

  • Lead activities in the classroom that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents

  • Maintain staff and child records

  • Prepare for pre-accreditation process

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Knowledgeable about licensing regulations, accreditation, and best practices for children

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision making skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with families, co-workers and management

  • Demonstrated team work abilities and flexibility

  • Excellent organization skills and time management

  • Willing to learn, open to feedback

  • Experience with the Play, Participation and Possibilities Curriculum Framework is an asset, as a willingness to learn and grow in this way of working is required

Qualifications:

  • Child Care Supervisor (Level 3)

  • 2 years’ experience in a leadership role in an early childhood learning and child care setting

  • Current Child Care First Aid with CPR

  • Current Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector search

  • Basic computer literacy
